These teams ended Week Zero transactions with more than 7000 in cash, after all teams received an extra 2000 cash disbursement.

At that point, their cash balances were supposed to be cut down to 7000.  However, following a process we started in 2019, we'll give these teams another chance to get their cash balances in line.  The uncertainty of how transactions will run in Week Zero may create situations where teams had planned to be below maximum balance and didn't quite make it.

Note that by rule, some teams are exempt from this requirement:

• Teams that are currently in orphan status
• Orphan teams adopted where their 4000 cash was credited on March 15 or later
• Owners in their first season in BWB
• Leagues starting up in 2026 (none this year)

At this time, the only method to reduce the cash balances for these teams to save funds being cut is to use contract extensions.  These teams should use the normal contract extension form to accomplish this.

• Before we process Week 1 transaction submissions, BWB will process the contract extensions first
• After that round of contract extensions, any of the teams listed below that still have a balance over 7000 will have the extra cash deducted from their balance
• Then we'll process Week 1 as normal
