Benchwarmer Championships
Boar's Nest gets a chance to repeat. Ex-champ San Francisco
returns to the playoffs. And two former expansion teams get
their first shot at playoff glory as D-Town and Milford make the top
spot.
The winner receives a bonus of 4 million Benchwarmer Bucks.
The runner-up gets 2 million. The winner also receives the
team's 2005 season for free, plus a free team in a new league.
Mathewson Conference: Boar's Nest (83-67) vs. D-Town (94-56)
For the third year in a row, Boar's Nest spotted Brewster a
mid-season lead, and a furious finish succeeded for the second
straight year. The Nest runs up against the league's top team in
the first round. D-Town won only 55 games in 2003, but pulled
out of last place for the first time in a huge way this season -
sprinting to an early lead and never looking back on the way to the
league's best record.
Season series: D-Town had a 7-5 advantage.

Johnson Conference: San Francisco (82-68) vs. Milford (83-67)
San Francisco missed out on their opportunity to repeat last
season, when they finished tied for the division and lost a one-game
playoff. They reach the playoffs for the third time, but were
only 30-34 in the final 10 weeks. Milford finished over .500
last season, and pushed even farther this year - using a 13-game
winning streak in the last few weeks to overtake Nordeast - and then
holding them off by a single game.
Season series: Tied 6-6
HALL OF FAME LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP : San Francisco vs. D-Town
San Francisco went down early in the conference championships 2-0,
but came back to beat Milford 4 straight games. D-Town had
little trouble in knocking off defending champion Boar's Nest.
San Francisco makes their second appearance in the championship series
- winning the league title in 2001. This is D-Town's breakout
season. In only 1 season did the team with the best regular
season record fail to win it all.
