2008 Benchwarmer Championships
Four former expansion teams meet in the final four for 2008.
Three of these teams have already won championships and Oaxaca - the
only one without a title - comes in with easily the best record in the
league.
Mathewson Conference: Boar's Nest (87-63) vs. South Beach (88-62)
Not the dominant Boar's Nest from seasons past, but they found a
way to get it done and ended up on top in the Wagner Division for the
sixth straight season, but they haven't won it all since 2005.
South Beach has just one division title before this season - 2004 -
but they ran that all the way to a league championship.

Johnson Conference: Oklahoma (91-59) vs. Oaxaca (100-50)
A few years ago, Oaxaca made the transition from doormat to
powerhouse and now have their 4th straight division win. They
advanced to the finals in 2005 and again last year, but are waiting to
break through and win it all. Meanwhile, a new owner brought
back the Oklahoma franchise to life and has them ready to shoot for
their second championship (winning it in 2006).

The finals match up two of the league's most successful teams of
recent years - but they've met in the finals only once: in 2005
(Boar's Nest won in 5 games). Boar's Nest has won two
championships...Oaxaca is looking for their first. But this is a
slightly down year for Boar's Nest - it may be Oaxaca's time.
Oaxaca is in the Benchwarmer Bash win or lose. Boar's Nest needs
a win here to advance.
