The 2007 Benchwarmer Bash
Benchwarmer Baseball holds a final playoff
tournament each fall, taking all the league champions and - for now -
some wildcard teams and crowning a single champ for all of Benchwarmer
Baseball.
The format - as BWB continues to grow - will be in flux from season
to season. Eventually, leagues will be part of "associations"
and "federations" and there will be champs at each level that advance
to the final bash. We were one league short in 2007 of having a
legitimate federation championship round.
In 2007, with 9 leagues, we shake things up a little
bit from last year. We take the 9 league champs plus
14 wild
cards - the 14 non-championship teams with the highest
Power Index Numbers.
The 9 league champs automatically advance to the second round.
The 14 wild cards play each other to reduce the total field to 16.
We will then re-seed all 16 teams by Power Index.
