Benchwarmer Championships
It appears the strength of the league is in the Martin Conference -
with either Hoboken or Carlisle likely to be favored in the final
series. But Los Anaheim and Lake Wobegon will have something to
say about that - and the playoffs have a different look this season
without London in the final four.
Epstein Conference: Los Anaheim (81-69) vs. Lake Wobegon (85-65)
Something new in the McCartney Division, where Lake Wobegon
overtook early leader Dinkytown around mid-season and withstood a late
rush by last year's league champ, London, for their first trip to the
Beatleball Playoffs. The last time that Los Anaheim finished a
week out of first place was in Week 12. Yet, the division was
tight the whole way, with all 4 teams finishing within 6 games of the
lead.

Martin Conference: Carlisle (90-60) vs. Hoboken (94-56)
Carlisle went 12-6 in the final round of division play to fend off
Alphaville and repeat as the Harrison Division winners - again.
They are the only team to win in the 4-year history of the league.
This time around, they'll face tough competition if they want to
advance to the final round for the 4th time and potentially follow up
on their 2005 League Championship. Hoboken comes into the
playoffs as the top team in the league. Winning the division for
the first time in franchise history, they grabbed a double-digit lead
by Week 16. The only chink in the armor might be the edge
Carlisle held in the season series.

BWB CHAMPIONSHIP : Lake Wobegon vs. Hoboken
Bring on the new blood. In a season where Lake Wobegon became
the first team other than London to win the McCartney Division,
Hoboken is the first Starr team to beat Carlisle in the Martin
Conference finals. So, this sets up a first-ever title for
whichever franchise wins.
