2009 Benchwarmer Championships

Four teams come into this year's playoffs with sights on their first championship.  A couple teams have been here before - the other two are new to this level.

 

Red Barber Conference: New Delhi (74-76) vs. Twin Cities (85-65)

This is the first division title for both teams - as New Delhi finished 2nd in all three previous seasons of the league and Twin Cities finished 2nd last season.  Both look to take one more step up this year too to the league finals.

Mel Allen Conference: Newport News (83-67) vs. Philadelphia (89-61)

Newport News makes a repeat appearance in the playoffs, and Philadelphia is back - they were out for one season, but won the division in 2006 and 2007.  Neither team has won in this round, however, so they are both looking for their first conference crown.

BWB CHAMPIONSHIP : Newport News vs. Twin Cities

Looks like a pretty even matchup - with Twin Cities having the edge in wins this season, but Newport News better in the head-to-head meetings.  This is the first season Boomer will not win the league title, as both teams shoot for their first win.
