Redistribution DraftEach season, we start the winter off by allowing teams to assemble a shopping list from the available free agents. The draft is weighted to favor teams who finished poorly in the previous season - giving them a chance to rebuild quickly. We have a history of many worst-to-first seasons, and that often begins here.

This also occurs at the time we add new players to the master list - so you'll find a mixture of players chosen who may be stars made available in cost cutting and a collection of new prospects for the future.
