Second-Place Showdown
In honor of the 43rd President of the United States (heh, heh, heh),
The Al Gore Cup is a forum for teams that finished second and most
likely feel that they're more deserving than all of the other
first-place teams to be in the championship bracket.
Teams are seeded 1-4 based on regular season records and play a
best-of-seven semifinal round followed by another seven game series to
crown the winner.
The winner receives a bonus of 1 million Benchwarmer Bucks.
The runner-up gets 500,000.

The 2006 Entrants (in order of seeding):
- Gashouse (88-63) - Came back in the Amazing Race
division to end up in a tie, but lost a one-game playoff to Jersey
Sea Shore. League Power Index: 1
- South Pole (83-67) - One game ahead of Platte
County to finish 2nd. Power Index: 6
- Buffalo (78-73) - Tied with Minneapolis, but took
2nd place due to 13-5 edge in head-to-head. Power Index: 8
- Generic (69-81) - Beat out Parkville for 2nd
place. Power Index: 7
Semifinals - Gashouse wins in 6 games, South Pole wins in 7.
Finals - South Pole vs. Gashouse. South Pole took the season
series 4-2.
