Benchwarmer Baseball Rules

19.0 Yearly Rule Changes

Benchwarmer Baseball is constantly evolving.  So, the rules will change from time to time.  Unless it's otherwise necessary, all changes will be made in the off season.  Or, if changes will be made for the upcoming off season, those will begin to appear toward the end of the regular season.

Last Updated - November 29 2020: Changes for 2021

BWB rule changes have come from changes in how MLB teams play (one continual adjustment seems to be the nature of specialists in relief situations).  Many of the rule changes have come directly from owner input, so if you feel something should be changed, let us know.  We may have strong reasons to not want to change certain rules, but we'll always listen.  And, sometimes after years of objection, we may give in to a change if it makes sense.

Keep in mind that some rules are meant to promote roster turnover and competitive balance.  So, as an example, while it may fit within the baseball franchise model to have more than one player on IR or to have more than 12 guys in your minor leagues, BWB remains a game of limited resources and how you deal with them.
